TAX SEASON?

Postby localmotors1.7065 » Thu Dec 25, 2014 7:32 pm

We had a fair tax season in 2014 What is the general opinion of how the tax season will be this year? We think it will be better based on some small job growth in our local economy>

Better yet ? Let's discuss what we did last year to be successful at tax time, and what we will do this year ? I will go 1st. Every year we offer large flatscreen TVs with their down payment.Last year we had to scramble early and offer small downs to get them to bite. This year I'm perplexed.Every person and his dog are offering financing. They are offering financing themselves or through groups such as Westlake,etc...Our niche is drying up, and we are being forced to go further, such as,lower rates, less markup, higher quality(meaning more expensive cars)etc...We are trying to formulate a plan as I write.Your opinions ? Thanks Dennis Combs combscarcorral.com Boise/Nampa,Idaho

We have decided to offer a buy now program for this year. We generally would not do pick up payment but in order to drive business we thought we would try to use a small down payment now then a pick up payment when the tax refund get here. We do have some special requirement for this program. Most of our cars sell for 4995 to 6995 we usually get about $1000.00 down on average and finance the balance with interest for a max of 24 months.

Very good John. We did that last year starting Jan 2.We would then give them a TV when they made the pic payment. This year we are making sure our prices are low, quality high, removing stipulations regarding TVs,and ofcourse financing deep.I am thinking of having a radio program in the future that offers 100-500.00 cash per week hidden in our cars on our website.A person that works our website hard will get the 100.00 reward. Right now it's a lame idea, but we are working on it.Any other ideas guys ? :) Dennis Combs combscarcorral.com Boise/Nampa,Idaho

MR. Combs that sounds like a great idea. Im always looking for something to help us bring in new business. We work very hard to keep our current customer and are trying to earn new business. I like that you mention quality vehicles. I think that is the key to our success in the future of buy here pay here. I have a question what do you mean buy financing deep? What is the term of the loan you try to target? Thanks john pinckard.

Hi John - I'm glad to see you active here. Not many of our BHPH brothers or sisters are talking. :( When I say financing 'Deep' ,I mean taking larger risk; putting more dollars on the street (less down, more expensive car), longer terms, lower quality of customer. Ofcourse that means less dollars all around for inventory replacement , wages , income tax money , etc... and we know this is a cash flow business. :) Dennis Combs combscarcorral.com Boise/Nampa,Idaho
